Iron Arrow Honor Society, founded in 1926 in conjunction with the University's opening, is the Highest Honor Attained at the University of Miami. Based on Seminole Indian tradition, Iron Arrow recognizes those individuals in the University of Miami community who exemplify the five qualities of Iron Arrow:

Love of Alma Mater, Character, Leadership, Scholarship, and Humility.

The members of Iron Arrow assemble twice a year to select those to be tapped for membership into the Tribe.

We have just completed the Spring 2012 Election and Business Meeting Cycle. We welcome and congratulate the incoming officers for the 2012-2013 term:

Ashley Taggart - Chief

Melissa Guller - Son of Chief

Shelby Juarez - Medicine Man

These young ladies and students have also created a new piece of Iron Arrow History - they are the first set of all-female officers in the Tribe's 86-year history.

The next ceremonial tapping will occur in the Fall 2012 Semester when we celebrate Fall 2012 Homecoming. Please see our calendar for specific dates and times.

The officers look forward to seeing members throughout the year and invite them to visit our beautiful campus when in Miami.
